Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
§ 1 Scope
These terms apply to the use of the MetaDataGone web application at metadatagone.com, operated by Tom Silas Helmke.
§ 2 Description of Service
MetaDataGone analyzes, edits, and removes normal file metadata where the file format technically supports it. File processing happens locally in the browser; files are not uploaded to our servers.
The app is free to use. There is currently no paid access, no checkout, no license key, and no account requirement.
Very large files and large batches may be limited by browser memory, device performance, or safety limits.
§ 3 Optional Support
Supporting MetaDataGone is voluntary. It is not required to use the tool and does not unlock additional features. MetaDataGone does not issue donation receipts and does not advertise support as a tax-deductible donation. The support link leads to Ko-fi, an external service. When you click it, you leave MetaDataGone; Ko-fi’s privacy and payment terms apply.
MetaDataGone does not transmit uploaded files, file names, metadata, or reports to Ko-fi. Ko-fi only opens when you explicitly click the external support link.
§ 4 Important Boundaries
MetaDataGone is not an AI detector, not a forensic authenticity tool, and not an AI watermark remover. The tool does not detect or remove SynthID-style marks, steganographic patterns, LSB data, hidden pixel patterns, or watermarks outside normal file metadata.
Missing metadata does not mean a file is fake. Existing provenance metadata can provide context, but it does not prove that the visible content is true.
§ 5 Liability and Use at Your Own Risk
The service is provided without warranty. We do not guarantee that every possible piece of information in every file is detected or removed. Verify cleaned files yourself before sharing them.
To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence.
§ 6 Privacy
Information about personal data processing and optional external services is available in the Privacy Policy.
