Withdrawal Information and Refund Policy
1. Right of Withdrawal (§ 355 BGB)
Consumers generally have the right to withdraw from a contract for the supply of digital content (license key) within 14 days without providing reasons. The withdrawal period begins upon conclusion of the contract (checkout confirmation).
2. Early Expiry of the Right of Withdrawal (§ 356 (5) BGB)
The right of withdrawal expires for contracts for the supply of digital content not delivered on a tangible medium (e.g. license keys) once the trader has begun executing the contract, after the consumer has:
- expressly consented to the trader beginning execution of the contract before the withdrawal period expires, and
- confirmed their knowledge that, by giving their consent, they lose their right of withdrawal at the commencement of the execution of the contract (§ 356 (5) German Civil Code).
Specifically for MetaDataGone: once your license key has been generated and delivered to you by email or displayed during checkout, your right of withdrawal expires early.
By completing the checkout, you actively confirm both of the above points. The checkout cannot be completed without this consent.
3. Goodwill Refunds for Technical Issues
Even though your statutory right of withdrawal expires upon delivery of the license key, we offer goodwill refunds for demonstrable technical issues that we cannot resolve within a reasonable timeframe (e.g. an invalid or non-activatable license key, no premium unlock despite valid payment).

4. Merchant of Record (LemonSqueezy)
Payment processing and invoicing are handled via our Merchant of Record, LemonSqueezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC, 17 Edinburgh Dr, Wilmington, DE 19808, USA). LemonSqueezy is responsible for taxes, refunds and payment disputes.
If we approve a refund, it will be processed technically by LemonSqueezy to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the payment provider (typically 3–10 business days).
For payments via Monero (XMR), refunds are technically not possible; in exceptional cases, a replacement license with extended term may be offered instead.
5. Consequences of a Valid Withdrawal
As long as the right of withdrawal has not expired under Section 2, in the event of a valid withdrawal we will refund all payments received without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive your withdrawal statement. We will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
